Pet-Friendly Stays
- Pets are welcome in all apartments.
- A maximum of 2 pets per apartment is permitted.
- Guests must inform the hotel in advance if travelling with a pet.
Pet Charges
- A pet cleaning fee of £60 applies per stay and this Is paid prior to check-in.
- Any damage, excessive cleaning, or additional maintenance required as a result of a pet stay will be charged to the guest accordingly.
Pet Weight & Breed Policy – Guest Safety
To ensure the comfort, safety, and well-being of all guests, staff, and pets staying at Princes Street Suites, we kindly ask guests to adhere to the following pet weight and breed guidelines.
- Pets must be well-socialised, non-aggressive, and appropriately trained for a hotel environment.
- Dogs should remain under the control of their owner at all times while within the property and surrounding public areas.
- For guest safety and apartment suitability, management reserves the right to refuse accommodation to pets considered unsuitable due to size, behaviour, or temperament.
- Any dog displaying aggressive or disruptive behaviour towards guests, staff, or other animals may result in the immediate termination of the stay without refund.
- We strongly recommend that larger breeds are muzzled in busy public areas if required by the owner or local guidance.
- Pets must not pose a health or safety risk to other guests or staff members.
- Owners are fully responsible for the behaviour and welfare of their pets throughout their stay.
Princes Street Suites reserves the right to decline or remove any pet where management reasonably believes the animal may compromise the safety, comfort, or experience of other guests.
During Your Stay
To ensure a comfortable experience for all guests, we kindly ask pet owners to follow these guidelines:
- Pets must be kept under control at all times.
- Dogs must be kept on a lead in all public areas of the property.
- Pets must not be left unattended in apartments at any time.
- Excessive noise, including barking, must be avoided to prevent disturbance to other guests. Repeated disturbances may result in the termination of your stay without refund.
- Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets both within the property and in surrounding public areas. Failure to do so, or repeated complaints from other guests, may result in the termination of your stay without refund.
Furniture & Housekeeping
- Pets are not permitted on beds or upholstered furniture.
- Guests are encouraged to bring their own pet bedding and bowls. A limited number of dog beds may be available upon request, subject to availability.
- For housekeeping and safety reasons, guests may be asked to arrange a suitable time for apartment servicing if pets are present.
Damage & Liability
Guests are fully responsible for:
- Any injury or damage caused by their pet.
- Any additional cleaning costs resulting from accidents, stains, odours, or damage to the apartment or hotel property.
- Ensuring pets are appropriately vaccinated and compliant with local regulations.
Assistance Dogs
Certified assistance dogs are welcome free of charge and are not subject to standard pet restrictions.

At Princes Street Suites, we understand how distressing it can be if a pet goes missing. The following procedure is designed to assist guests and our team in responding quickly and effectively should a pet become lost during a stay.
If Your Pet Goes Missing
Notify Reception Immediately
Guests should inform Reception as soon as they become aware that their pet is missing. Our team will:
- Record the pet’s description, name, breed, colour, and last known location.
- Obtain the guest’s contact details and apartment number.
- Assist in coordinating an immediate search of the property and surrounding areas.
Search the Property & Immediate Area
Our team will help if possible to check:
- Communal corridors and stairwells
- Entrance areas
- Rooftop terrace and public spaces
- Nearby streets and surrounding areas close to Princes Street Suites
Guests are encouraged to bring familiar items such as treats, toys, bedding, or leads to help attract the pet.
Contact Local Vets & Pet Services
Reception can assist guests in contacting nearby veterinary practices, emergency pet hospitals, and local animal services to report the missing pet and check whether the animal has been found or brought in.
Notify Local Authorities & Animal Charities
Where appropriate, guests may also be advised to contact:
- Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home
- Local animal wardens
- Police Scotland (if the pet may have been stolen or injured near roads)
Use Social Media & Community Networks
Guests may wish to post clear photographs and details of their missing pet on:

Our Reception Team may assist with recommendations where possible.
Important Information
- Princes Street Suites accepts no liability for lost pets; however, our team will make every reasonable effort to assist guests during the search process.
- Guests are responsible for ensuring pets are supervised and secure at all times during their stay.
- We strongly recommend that pets wear identification tags and be microchipped with up-to-date contact information.
